Abstract
A summary of the resource.
Since it is inevitable that many people will die in hospitals it is important to ensure that facilities, procedures, policies and staffing are arranged in ways that respect the needs of patients and families. The purpose of this review is to gather the evidence on how design and configuration of facilities can be supportive to dignity and privacy around death in hospital, and to determine if in fact these improvements are cost-effective and produce a positive return on the investment.

Abstract
A summary of the resource.
A systematic literature review of evidence on the cost-effectiveness of hospital-based palliative care. Of particular interest to the review was evidence to support the contention that palliative care in hospital delivers high
quality care for seriously ill patients and their families at the same or lower cost than traditional medical service.
