The Acute Hospital Network was established in 2010 after the completion of phase one of the Hospice Friendly Hospitals Programme. It grew from the original group of hospitals involved with the Hospice Friendly Hospitals Programme. The network aims to support End-of-Life Care Committees in hospitals to implement the Quality Standards for End of Life Care.
