<text>: HEBER, the Association of Hospice & Allied Bereavement Groups in Ireland was initiated in the early 1990’s to bring together groups offering bereavement services and training. Led by Therese Brady, the aim was to provide specialist training, workshops and expert talks for people working in bereavement support and to work towards common standard in bereavement care provision. The group began offering training workshops and an annual conference was first held in 1993.
In 1994 they began training for people to working with bereaved children and adolescents, in 1999 this course would be taken over by the Irish Hospice Foundation and developed into the Professional Certificate of Children and Loss.
