An account of the resource
In 2003 singer and composer Gavin Friday along with his musical collaborator Maurice Seezer created the first Irish adaptation of Sergei Prokofiev's classic 'Peter and the Wolf'. A CD box set was created accompanied by a 64-page cloth-bound book illustrated by U2’s Bono and his daughters Jordan and Eve.
The book was officially launched on October 1 2003.
The original art work by Bono, with canvases up to 20 foot long went on an exhibition tour of three countries. The exhibitions took place in;
City Hall, Dublin - 1st-3rd October 2003
Christie’s, London - 6th -8th October 2003
Christie’s, Los Angeles - 13th -15th October 2003
Christie’s, New York - 20th-21st November 2003
The artwork was auctioned by Christie's New York on November 21 2003.
The project raised €850,000 for the Irish Hospice Foundation between 2003 - 2005
